The Newtown Creek Alliance is committed to education for neighborhood elementary, middle school and high school students as well as local universities and colleges. NCA also partners with the Queens and Brooklyn Public Libraries to deliver environmental education programming.
Our elementary and middle school programs use Newtown Creek to explore larger topics such as earth science, water cycles, marine ecology and human health. We also discuss ways to prevent pollution and issues of urban planning.
In addition to workshops and guest lectures, NCA hosts field trips and walking tours for students to explore the Newtown Creek environment. If your school or organization is interested in scheduling a field trip or class visit please check out our tours page.
