The project study area contains 170 street trees, as reported in the 2015 NYC Street Tree Census. In the summer of 2024, a two-month survey was conducted to assess the health and status of these trees. The survey aimed to identify challenges and opportunities for maintenance and new plantings.

Two NCA Urban Heat Island Summer Fellows (A paid summer fellowship program funded by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation) and staff from Trees New York contributed to the survey.
