Join us for a special hands-on workshop with ecological systems designer Nance Klehm to build out a bioswale for water retention at Plank Road. Since 2013, NCA has been working at Plank Road (58th Road in Maspeth, Queens) to revitalize the historic street end into a rejuvenated public shoreline. Nance leads workshops to educate communities about the benefits of regenerative land management practices and we are thrilled to have her visit our Newtown Creek site.
Nance Klehm, founder of Social Ecologies based in Chicago, focuses on soil restoration, remediation, and community-focused regenerative soils and water systems. Nance is internationally respected for her work on land politics and soil heath.
