Strangeways has come together with Greenpoint Fish and Lobster to bring you “A Lovely Seafood Dinner” in support of the rehabilitation of New York Harbor.
Join us on Thursday August 18th for Cocktail & Oyster Hour, followed by 3 courses from Chef Ken Addington (Strangeways) & Chef Orion Russel (Greenpoint Fish & Lobster).
Tickets are $120/person and include a cocktail on entry, oysters, 3 courses and a commemorative tee-shirt.
This will be a community gathering party AND an education event with trivia games, face painting, snacks, music, and more!
Under our NCA tent by the steps of the Nature Walk, visitors will be able to see, learn about, and interact with the marine ecology of Newtown Creek. Here we will be promoting awareness of life under the water’s edge and engaging our local community in thoughtful discovery.
Come see oysters, mussels, crabs, fish, shrimp, plants, and many other marine life forms!
This is a free, drop in program happening twice a week through the month of July. Please note: the final Creek Critters of the season will end 30 minutes early.

This annual festival aims to bring awareness to Greenpoint’s, and the surrounding communities’, long-standing environmental burden and its transition to a cleaner, healthier future as well as the global climate crisis and the potential for local, community-based solutions.
Programming will include:
- Native plant sale and harvested seed giveaway
- Creekside marine ecology activities led by Riverkeeper and Guardians of Flushing Bay
- Guided green rooftop tours with Alive Structures and Newtown Creek Alliance
- Family-friendly and educational activities
- Tabling by numerous community-based organizations
- Food and drinks served by local vendors
- Performances & visual arts during the Festival presented by NOoSPHERE Arts with dance curation by CreateART
