RAIN Coalition
The RAIN Coalition is order cialis lowest price comprised of NYC-based watershed organizations and workforce development organizations, seeking to build green job opportunities and address the climate crisis through Right-of-Way Rain Garden maintenance.
Together, we are united in exploring a new model of rain garden stewardship that is rooted in local neighborhoods and watersheds, connected to robust community education and volunteerism, and grounded in a workforce development effort to offer training and jobs to residents in affected communities.
As part of our work in the coalition, NCA manages 15 Rain Gardens in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Sunnyside, Queens on a weekly basis in alignment with NYC DEP’s Rain Garden Maintenance Manual. Kingsland Wildflowers
Kingsland Wildflowers is a 25,000 sqft native pollinator garden nestled in Greenpoint Brooklyn’s industrial zone. The roof provides incredible views of Manhattan and the heavy industrial zones both next door and in the distance. Both the views and plantings create an opportunity for conversation and education around New York City’s conservation efforts, green infrastructure initiatives and policy, and our role in the growing climate crisis.

Queens Landing Boathouse and Environmental Center
Newtown Creek Alliance partnered with Hunters Point Parks Conservancy and North Brooklyn Community Boathouse to open a new multipurpose space in Long Island City, Queens. Perfectly situated on the shore of both Newtown Creek and East River, the space offers an opportunity for community to learn more about the Creek, its history, and the life within order cialis from canada the water. Last-Mile Coalition
Newtown Creek Alliance is a proud member of the Last-Mile Coalition. Launched in December 2021, it is a citywide coalition of environmental justice and public health advocates fighting to regulate last-mile trucking facilities in New York City. The coalition is calling on the NYC City Planning Commission to pass a Zoning Resolution Text Amendment to mitigate the explosive growth of last-mile trucking facilities – warehouses where packages are sorted and sent out for distribution.
Dutch Kills Loop
New The Dutch Kills Loop is a proposed 1.4 mile circuit of public walkways, bridges, and park spaces that enlivens and connects a restored Dutch Kills, an inlet of the Newtown Creek in Long Island City, Queens, New York. Today the various segments of the Dutch Kills Loop are disjointed and vary in their physical condition, with many derelict. The Dutch Kills Loop would restore and link up these segments to create connectivity across the neighborhood for pedestrians, reactivate disused infrastructure, and create access to the waterfront.
