This June Newtown Creek Alliance (NCA) is hosting a series of events centered around the English Kills tributary of Newtown Creek aimed to engage the East Williamsburg and Bushwick communities with this inaccessible waterway and ways that the upland communities can help improve conditions in both the Creek and on local streets.
This event will include:
- Introduction to the importance of green infrastructure (why it is good for water quality in Newtown Creek)
- Hands-on maintenance of curbside rain gardens along Maujer Street (between Morgan and Waterbury)
- Cleanup of sidewalk and street trash along Maujer Street and Morgan Avenue
