Newtown Creek Alliance and the Dutch Kills Loop team invite you to come lend a hand as we tackle cleaning a large section of shoreline along the Dutch Kills Tributary of the Newtown Creek in LIC, Queens. Help us take care of the Paidge Avenue Pollinator Pathway! These native plants provide an attractive habitat for the local ecosystems and provide opportunities for the community to come together to celebrate, support, and learn about urban ecology. We will provide gloves, tools, safety vests, and guidance on how to help care for the urban meadows.
Join us at this year’s Tidal Toast as we celebrate NCA’s two decades of work and raise a glass to all of NCA’s friends, supporters, and partners who enable us to restore, reveal, and revitalize Newtown Creek. In celebration of our 20 years, we are honoring three distinct individuals whose extensive contributions have advanced cleanup, connection, and care of our beloved Newtown Creek:
Capt John Lipscomb: Restore Award
Christine Holowacz: Revitalize Award
Mitch Waxman: Reveal Award
This year, we are excited to partner with Colossal Media, who will be generously hosting the Tidal Toast event at their Creek-side facility on Metropolitan Avenue. In addition to a spacious interior, this unique location also offers an outdoor section overlooking the English Kills tributary of Newtown Creek.
