2022 NYC Community Water Quality Testing program: call for Newtown Creek volunteers

The 2022 Water Quality Sampling kicks off next week on May 19th, and NCA is looking for a few dedicated volunteers to take water samples through the summer! Check out some highlights, and the results, from last summer to learn more about the project.

Every Thursday morning we sample 5 sites on Newtown Creek as part of the NYC Community Water Quality Testing program, a partnership between the New York City Water Trail Association, the Billion Oyster Project, and Hudson River Park’s River Project. We are looking for regular and dedicated volunteers to commit to collecting water samples for 20 weeks, May-September, at one of the following sites:

The program runs for 20 weeks, rain or shine, and requires volunteers to collect and deliver samples to the Billion Oyster Project research station in Williamsburg.

If you are interested in sampling one or more sites, please fill out our google form.
